The Peter Thomas History Fund ~ Operation Christmas Spirit
Connecting the latest generation to the Greatest Generation to fight cultural amnesia
- The PTHF supports students who advance from the Collier County History Fair to Florida History Day (FHD) and National History Day (NHD) as well as providing teacher training
- The FHD’s Spirit of ‘45 Award is a statewide prize awarded to an outstanding student entry about a person, event, or innovation that relates to Florida’s role in WWI. It was established to honors native Floridian, Peter Thomas, for his work to preserve the legacy of the men and women of WWII.
- Three years ago we began a yearly collaboration with an organization to promote Florida’s WWII Heritage Trail and our state’s role in WWII. This year we will partner with Thank You Across America
Serving Those Who Served
- Operation Christmas Spirit provides Christmas trees, wreaths, lights and gift certificates to enhance the holiday spirit and co-host a luncheon at the VET Center in Naples.
- Through collaborating with other veteran’s organization, we strive to honor special requests throughout the year for returning veterans’ immediate needs of housing, clothing, gas, PTSD training classes etc.
- We also promote veterans groups and assist with PR, Strategic Planning, Opportunities at Communities events
